Video: Carving of the Week
Announcing a new Endangered Alphabets video feature: Carving of the Week!
Since the launch of the Atlas of Endangered Alphabets (www.endangeredalphabets.net), people have been contacting us from all over the world, sending us new scripts that should be included. So each time we add a new script, I’ll carve it, paint it, and talk about it, and we’ll capture that brief video profile for you.
You can watch the first–NSIBIDI, from Nigeria–by clicking HERE.
You’ll find more about it at endangeredalphabets.net/alphabets/nsibidi.
Let us know what you think!

I found your talk today (10/15/2026) very interesting!! Your work is very unique and it is awesome how much you’ve put into this project. I am normally very interested in language acquisition but it was very cool to see how fundamental writing is to certain cultures. Thanks for the talk! 🙂
